Marie Thérèse ditte Coincoin (August 1742-1816) was notable as a free médecine, planter, and businesswoman in Natchitoches Parish. She was freed from slavery after a long liaison and ten children with Claude Thomas Pierre Métoyer. She and her descendants established the community of Créoles of color at Isle Brevelle, including what is believed to be the first church founded by free people of color for free people of color, St. Augustine Parish (Isle Brevelle) Church, Natchez, Louisiana.
